Forty-six carefully selected photos by members of the Connecticut Valley Camera Club make up the May, June and July Main Street Gallery exhibit at CBSRZ. Participating photographers will join congregants on Friday evening, May 18th, for the official opening of this show.
Photo topics range from long forgotten Jewish cemeteries to classic European synagogues to brilliant nature studies and contemplative land and water scapes. All photographs are for sale with the photographers donating 35% to our Temple. The exhibit will remain up through July and visitors are welcome from Monday - Friday, 10AM - 3PM.

Our evening of prayer and learning will begin with an hour-long contemplative service, followed by a discussion on the meaning of conversion with Rabbi Goldenberg and two congregants, Jim Talbott and Lynne Zimmerman.
Rabbi Goldenberg will frame the discussion with reflections on the Book of Ruth, which tells the story of Ruth, the first convert. Then Jim and Lynne, both who made the choice to convert to Judaism, will share their reflections on their experiences.
Come for all or just part of the Tikkun. It is traditional to eat things like noodle kugel, cheese cake, blintzes or anything else dairy on Shavuot - bring a dairy treat to share if you are able.
On Shavuot morning, our Confirmation class (10th grade) will lead us in prayer and song and they will each chant a section of the Ten Commandments from the Torah. They will each also deliver a sermonette on the top of Jewish identity or God.
As is traditional, this service will also include a short Yizkor/Memorial service, as we remember those whose lives touched ours with their love. The service will be followed by a joyful reception, sponsored by the Confirmation families.
Our annual FREE klezmer song and dance fest featuring A Klez Act. Food and beverages will be available for purchase - all proceeds will benefit local charities. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets - rain or shine.
There is no charge for this event and is open to the public.
